ART IN ACTION (AIA)

Art in Action is a program coordinated by the Galena ARC. It is a free art history program taught to Galena Primary School students (k-4th grade).

YOUTH ART CLASSES

Offering a creative environment for young artists ages 6-14 to explore new ideas, develop skills, and build self esteem through making and learning about art. Classes are offered throughout the school year as well as during the summer.

Check back often for updated class listings.

MIDDLE SCHOOL ART CLUB

The club is free to members (grades 5-8) because of a generous grant from the Chicago Athenaeum. This is an independent study, art exploration club—there will not be scheduled lessons. Each student will work independently on long-term art projects of their choosing. There may be a couple of group community service project opportunities.

ADULT CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS

Piano Classes

ADULT GROUP PIANO

RMM classes provide a supportive group environment in which to explore the basics of piano playing and music reading. The emphasis is on fun and enjoyment, and the limited class size (three to eight students) allows for a good balance of learning, support, and social time. No prior piano experience or talent is necessary, just a desire to learn the basics of keyboard or piano playing. A piano or keyboard at home is helpful for between-lesson practicing but not required. Solo playing during or between classes is always voluntary, and there are no recitals!
