Paper Mache Sculpture Workshop
Instructor: Kris Reader, Peosta, IA Artist

2 Days:
Monday, June 15 + Wednesday, June 17
6-8:30pm
Registration fee: $50
​
In this workshop you will learn how to combine recycled materials such as small drink containers, paper tubes and other household items and cover them with paper pulp to create your own four legged animal of your choice. Kris will demonstrate different techniques to create a variety of animals. You will also learn how to create small accessories for your animal as well as how to use simple tools and materials to get smooth areas and various textures. On the second day you will paint your animal, Kris will teach you how to mix tints and shades to complete your animal.

SUPPLIES
We will have a selection of recycled items to choose from to make your sculpture. Please feel free to bring any recycled items from home to customize your sculpture.
MEET KRIS READER
I am a retired elementary school teacher from the Elgin Illinois public school system. I have taught adult paper mache classes at Micheals and the park district where I lived in Illinois. Along with paper mache, I also enjoy knitting, crochet and embroidery. After retiring from teaching, I moved to the Dubuque area with my son, husband and 3 dogs.
