AGES 6-14*

Art Thursdays

*NOTE: some classes are a little more advanced and are for ages 8-14.

 

JUNE + JULY  |  $30 each class  |  1- 5pm

Join us for Art Thursdays this Summer. Classes begin at 1 p.m. and end at 5 p.m. Drop off and pickup can be extended 1/2 hour before or after class as needed to accommodate family schedules. Snack will be provided mid-afternoon. If you have a food allergy please bring your own snack. Fee includes all supplies.

Class size is limited to allow for proper social distancing, masks are required.

JUNE

Mixed Media 3-D Art

JUNE 10    |    1 - 5 p.m.    |    AGES 6-14    |    $30

Create 3-D art on a wooden panel using paint, layered papers, and Sculpy clay.

Linocut Printmaking 

JUNE 17    |    1 - 5 p.m.    |    AGES 8-14    |    $30

Learn about the printing process by designing and creating your own stamp. Ink and stamp your
image on different types of paper. Some prints will be enhanced by hand tinting to create a one-of-a-kind frameable art piece. 

Bobble Heads 

JUNE 24    |    1 - 5 p.m.    |    AGES 6-14    |    $30

Create a whimsical bobble head with clay, a cone and embellishments—be it a monster, animal, super hero, or sports character. 

JULY

Wood Burning

JULY 1    |    1 - 5 p.m.    |    AGES 8-14    |    $30

Create a design then burn the design into a wooden plate or plaque and embellish with paint.

Faux Fossils 

JULY 8    |    1 - 5 p.m.    |    AGES 6-14    |    $30

Create three-dimensional fossils of animals, plants or insects embedded in "stone".

Faux Leather Embossed Notebook 

JULY 15   |    1 - 5 p.m.    |    AGES 8-14    |    $30

Learn techniques to make paper look and feel like leather and then create a notebook with a faux leather cover.

Basket Weaving 

JULY 22    |    1 - 5 p.m.    |    AGES 8-14    |    $30

Guest Instructor: Local artist, Toni Klingler

Klimt Inspired "Metal" Collage 

JULY 29    |    1 - 5 p.m.    |    AGES 6-14    |    $30

Using inspiration from artist Gustav Klimt, create a scene from colorful metallic foil paper. Emboss and antique for a truly unusual piece pf artwork.

($1.25 + 4.97% of class fee).

Complete these 3 steps:

1. For immediate class registration please email: artdirector@galenaarc.org

You will be placed on the class list in order of email received. Your place will be held for 4 days awaiting payment. After 4 days if payment is not received you will be bumped from the list. You will receive a confirmation email once payment is received.

2. Download and Print the Registration Form

3. Place your completed form and payment in the Galena ARC lock box right outside ARC front doors (in a sealed envelope marked Art Class Registration). Lock box is checked daily.
